Selected as a leading Florida attorney by a survey of Florida lawyers conducted by the American Research Corporation in personal injury, David handles a diverse selection of cases. In this interview, he discusses his work in the case of Cybulski v. Foremost Industries Inc., in which he achieved $265 million verdict. The case involved a wrongful death suit brought by Mollie Cybulski on behalf of the estate of Eric Cybulski. The jury found Foremost Industries liable for placing a defective and unreasonably dangerous dual rotary drill in the stream of commerce and breached its warranty that the dual rotary drill was reasonably fit for its intended use.

Beyond his success as an attorney, David is also a dedicated volunteer, having received the American Bar Association’s TIPS Edmund Muskie Award (TIPS’ highest award for community involvement and pro bono legal service). He was additionally an Adjunct Professor of Trial Advocacy at the University of Miami School of Law. Davud holds an undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and a law degree from the University of Miami.

Randall H. Scarlett concentrates his practice in the areas of catastrophic personal injury, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, wrongful death and other serious wrongs. In this powerful interview, he discusses a case he recently handled in which a San Francisco jury awarded his client $23 million in damages for having suffered permanent brain damage when she was hit by a tour bus on Nob Hill in 2005. The award handed down March 13, 2009, includes $15.1 million for Xiu Jin "Celia" Shi's future pain and suffering and $6.4 million to provide round-the-clock care. The 51-year-old book-store employee was crossing a California Street intersection when she was struck by a Coach USA tour bus making an illegal left turn. Shi was in the crosswalk and walking with a green light, witnesses said. Shi suffered severe brain injuries that required four surgeries and nine months in hospitals and rehabilitation centers, leaving her with permanent frontal-lobe dam-age.
